Utah Jazz: Trey Burke Featured In New NBA 2K14 Sports Trailer
By Cody Powers
2k Sports recently released a video trailer called NBA 2K14 Rookies Trailer. The trailer showcases most rookies from Victor Oladipo, to Anthony Bennett, to Michael Carter-Williams and Trey Burke. The video can be seen below.
Trey even tweeted about the game.
The video should be something that gets all Jazz fans excited for the upcoming season. These are the type of things that Trey Burke could do in the NBA. He will be relied upon to make plays, as he did while he was at the University of Michigan.
Throughout the video, the plays that Burke made were mainly showing him making 3-point baskets, something he did very well in college. Burke made 38.4 percent of his shots from downtown, most of which were deep enough, or deeper, to be considered an NBA 3-point shot.
Burke played in 39 games last season with Michigan and took 198 3s. That averages out to be just a little more than five 3-point shots a game. Most of those shots were made after having to create his own shot. Here is how the NBA will be different for him.
Burke is going to be playing with two fantastic big men in Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors. Favors and Kanter have the opportunity this year to prove their worth as starters. Both big men has the talent to draw a double team and make other teams worried about them getting the ball down low. Burke’s job will be to get the ball inside to either player and float out to the 3-point line. When the double team comes, the ball can be kicked back out to Burke with a wide open shot.
If Burke can get wide open shots in the NBA, he could be deadly. Also, if he hits those shots consistently while adding all the amount of playing time that he should get on this team, he could have the best shot to win Rookie of the Year.
The video also shows a lot of Oladipo and Carter-Williams making plays, which makes it seem like the creators of the popular 2k Sports game are favoring these three players to be the most productive among rookies this season.
Among other rookies featured in the game trailer, Shabazz Muhammad was rarely shown. They must also think as everyone else does, that Muhammad will have a hard time adjusting to the NBA and most likely will not pan out. Alex Len of the Phoenix Suns was also rarely shown.
