Utah Jazz: Trey Burke Early Favorite for ROY
By Cody Powers
Since draft day, Utah Jazz fans have been excited about rookie Trey Burke. They have good reason to be excited.
If you watched Burke in his last season at Michigan, you could see how fantastic his game was. He was great at creating his own shot, finding the open man and playing great defense. Jazz fans aren’t the only ones recognizing how great the draft was for Utah. Bovada, a sports betting service, has come out with the odds for favorite to win Rookie of the Year, and the winner is Trey Burke.
2013-20 Rookie of the Year – Odds to Win
Trey Burke – 4-1
Victor Oladipo – 11-2
C.J. McCollum – 15-2
Otto Porter – 15-2
Michael Carter-Williams – 9-1
Anthony Bennett – 10-1
Ben McLemore – 10-1
Cody Zeller – 12-1
Alex Len – 14-1
Kelly Olynyk – 14-1
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – 14-1
Shabazz Muhammad – 15-1
Shane Larkin – 16-1
Sergey Karasev – 25-1
Tim Hardaway Jr. – 25-1
Nerlens Noel – 33-1
Dennis Schroeder – 33-1
Realize that summer league doesn’t start until Sunday and Burke has yet to step foot on an NBA court. However, I don’t recall the last time the Jazz had a rookie projected to win Rookie of the Year. That is another reason that should get Jazz fans excited for this kid. As if they need another reason.
