Season Outlook:

The Brooklyn Nets went out of their way to put some superstars together and they’ve done just that. Their starting lineup rivals the best in the NBA but a major issue will be depth. The bench is filled with has-beens, never-beens and will-never-bes.

Some are questioning how adding Joe Johnson and weakening the bench is going to do much for the Nets but it goes deeper than that. The motivation and desire has returned and they all have something to prove. This starting lineup, when healthy, will provide a great mix of offense and defense that they sorely lacked last year.

Best-Case Scenario:

The starters stay healthy and each play more than 70 games and 35 minutes per night. The Nets have a better top-five than the rest of the division, which could carry them to the division title and the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. They’re not getting by Miami this year.

Worst-Case Scenario:

Injuries ravage the team and chemistry becomes an issue. There’s no real center backing up Lopez and if he goes down, the team will follow. They could finish in the No. 9 seed at worst unless major injuries happen early and to more than one starter.
