The 2012 U.S. men’s Olympic basketball team is in full pursuit of the gold medal. That doesn’t mean it’s too early to start thinking about the 2016 team. Guys like Kobe Bryant will be too old at that point and will need to be replaced. What NBA players need to play for Team USA in 2016?
In making the decision of who belongs on the 2016 team, we had to project quite a bit. For example, do we have any clue how some of these younger guys will improve over the next four years?
Any player in the NBA that is also eligible to play for Team USA was considered. Age was a major factor, and as a result, don’t be surprised if one of your current favorites was left off. If he’s over 30 now, there’s no way he’ll take a roster spot from a younger guy in four years.
