The USA Men’s Basketball squad took their talents to Washington DC to play an exhibition match against the Brazilian team. USA would win 80-69 but it wasn’t the cakewalk that some were expecting.
LeBron James continued his excellence as he scored 30 points with six rebounds and four steals.
The Brazil team outrebounded the United States by a 38-30 margin and harassed the United States into 40.8% shooting from the field and 25% shooting from three.
The United States best rebounder, Kevin Love, played just under six minutes for the game.
Let’s not sell the Brazilian team short because they do boast six NBA players, which shows that they’re no pushover. I think the big issue here is that with the hype surrounding the 2012 vs. 1992 debate, the general population wants to see this team dominate.
The fact is, there wasn’t a team with six NBA players back in 1992. This Brazil team is good. The United States squad should be proud of their accomplishment in this win and should do everything possible to block out any negativity.
