Following an impressive postseason run, it is clear that the Miami Heat have one of the best rosters in the NBA. On both sides of the ball, the Heat have several players who can find a way to make an impact. In addition, the Miami Heat also has one of the NBA’s smartest head coaches, Erik Spoelstra. Furthermore, one aspect that the Heat thrive in is three-point shooting.

The Miami Heat’s front office has found several players who have gone undrafted and developed them into some of the league’s best three-point shooters. Spoelstra’s strategy to win games is one like no other. Franchise stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo do not utilize the three-point shot when looking to make a play on offense.

By surrounding Butler and Adebayo with an elite group of three-point shooters, opposing teams have a tough time keeping up. This method allows the Heat to score the ball efficiently at all three levels. Heading into next season, the Miami Heat have all of the pieces needed to run it back as the three-point champions.

Although the two-way forward P.J. Tucker signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Miami Heat made some strong additions in the draft, which leaves them as the best three-point shooting team in the NBA.

Miami Heat will be the NBA’s best 3-point shooting team in back-to-back years.

The Miami Heat’s roster is full of three-point shooting. Despite not making any significant additions in the offseason, Spoelstra and the Heat took advantage of a stacked draft class. The Heat prioritized potential and three-point shooting in the draft, as they added guard Jamaree Bouyea, and forwards Nikola Jovic and Darius Days. These were some of the highest-ranked three-point shooters in the 2022 NBA draft.

By the end of the 2022-23 NBA season, the Miami Heat should repeat as the best three-point shooting team in the league. Last season, the Heat had eight players shoot over 35% on catch-and-shoot three-pointers (min. two attempts). Despite losing a few players in the summer, many of Spoelstra’s rotational pieces still remain on the team.

The Miami Heat also have one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA with Duncan Robinson. During the 2019-20 NBA season, Robinson shot 44.6% from three on 8.3 attempts. The following season, Robinson shot 40.8% from three on 8.5 attempts. When utilized correctly, Robinson is one of the best three-point shooters in the world.

A player that doesn’t get talked about enough is sharpshooting guard Tyler Herro. While he did come off the bench last season, Herro starred in his role as he won the Sixth Man of the Year. Moreover, Herro is often overlooked as an elite three-point shooter. Last season, Herro shot 39.9% from three on 6.7 attempts per game. If Herro performs well throughout the upcoming season, he could be in for a max contract as he will be a restricted free agent in 2023.

There should be no reason why the Miami Heat will not lead the league in three-point efficiency next season. Spoelstra has several players who can shoot the ball at a high volume.

The Miami Heat will inevitably crush their previous seasonal record of 37.9% from three.
