The Portland Trail Blazers have an interesting summer ahead of them, and it begins with 2019 NBA free agency. Here are five potential targets for them.

The Portland Trail Blazers currently have 10 players under contract and also first round pick Nassir Little — who still needs to sign his deal — on the roster. They are already currently $27.1 million over the salary cap and won’t be big-time spenders in free agency.

The Blazers have five of their players hitting the market this summer, and it’s going to be hard for the franchise to keep all of them. Al-Farouq Aminu, Rodney Hood, Seth Curry and Enes Kanter are unrestricted free agents — Portland has full Bird rights on Aminu and can go over the cap to retain him — while Jake Layman is now a restricted free agent after being given his qualifying offer.

Portland will have the taxpayer mid-level exception that is worth $5.7 million, and it can be a max of three seasons. That will basically be their only tool to use to sign guys in free agency as well as signing players to a one-year, minimum salary.

They won’t be in the running for any of the big-name free agents like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant or Jimmy Butler. However, the Blazers can still find some players on the market that can come in, fill some needs for the team and try and help them take the next step in the playoffs.

With that mind, here are five potential targets for the Blazers in 2019 NBA free agency.
