The Chicago Bulls have just 24 games left in the 2017-18 campaign. Here’s a look at five storylines worth watching during the second half of the season.

The Chicago Bulls kicked off their post-All-Star break with a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. This marked their fifth defeat in the team’s last seven outings.

As a result of their recent setback — if you want to call it that at this point — the Bulls fell to 20-38 and as a surprise to exactly no one, they are going to miss the playoffs for the second time in three seasons under Fred Hoiberg’s watch.

The first instance took place during the 2015-16 campaign, when the Bulls finished with a 42-40 record, mostly due to a season filled with inconsistent play. At least this time around, the team missing the playoffs will have more to do with the decision of the front office to enter a rebuild more so than the lack of ability by the players and coaching staff.

Earlier this week, John Paxson announced that some of the players who haven’t played much this season will get an extended look for the remainder of the season. In case you’re wondering, this just means they intend to all they can to position themselves for a high pick in this year’s NBA Draft.

With this news, the fanbase knows exactly what to expect during the second half of the season. At the same time, it doesn’t mean there won’t be interesting topics to discuss.

So without further delay, here’s a look at the biggest storylines to keep a watchful eye on during the second half of the season.
