If dreams really do come true, the Houston Rockets will make a huge splash during 2018 NBA free agency by signing one of these five star players.

As we head into the final months of the 2017-18 NBA campaign, the Houston Rockets are looking like one of the Western Conference’s top contenders. Then again, that was to be expected after the union of James Harden and Chris Paul this past offseason.

However, if this current campaign doesn’t end in a title, the Rockets could look to 2018 NBA free agency to put the finishing touches on of the league’s most exciting rosters. While this team may not be perfect, an extra piece or two could push them over the edge and into the running for the club’s third NBA title.

The only problem is available funds will be quite limited this offseason. According to Spotrac.com, the Rockets are currently $48 million over the 2018-19 salary cap, which may not allow them much flexibility during free agency.

To help ease this argument along, though, I’m going to throw financials out the window. Dreams don’t care about salary caps or contract restraints.

Remember – these are meant to be hypothetical targets for Houston in 2018. Chances are these players won’t even be available, but that doesn’t mean general manager Daryl Morey wouldn’t love the opportunity to have them sign on the dotted line.
