To the surprise of many, Kyrie Irving wants to be traded to the New York Knicks. What Kyrie sees in New York will shock everyone, including the Knicks.

While much of America attempted to finish their week quietly, Kyrie Irving decided to blow up the NBA. Word came down from ESPN‘s Brian Windhorst that Kyrie wanted to be traded and listed the New York Knicks as one of his preferred destinations. Yes, Uncle Drew listed the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves as well.

However, for the Knicks to even be considered is a testament to the new direction of the team. Each of the other teams mentioned will surely make their best trade proposals. These opposing teams come from a much different place than the New York Knicks.

The Miami Heat look to be on the verge of something special and will make a strong case for Kyrie. With an aging Tony Parker and a need for youth at guard, the Spurs will offer their best too. Finally, the T-Wolves abound with young talent and Kyrie could make them deadly.

The New York Knicks are not on the talent or organizational level of any of the other three teams. Yet, Kyrie sees something in New York he likes and wants.

It has been years since New York has been a preferred destination of elite free agents or disgruntled stars seeking a trade. So, what does Kyrie see in the Knicks?
