JaMychal Green: 2 years, $17 million (Memphis Grizzlies)

As the last notable restricted free agent still unsigned for the 2017-18 season, it was unlikely JaMychal Green was going to get the kind of lucrative deal he had been holding out for. What the Memphis Grizzlies are going to sign him for, however, is a downright bargain.

With a two-year, $17 million deal being finalized, Green is going to get significantly less money than Nikola Mirotic got a few days ago. He had less room to negotiate being faced with the prospect of a $2.8 million qualifying offer, but the Grizz would’ve had a gaping hole at power forward without him, and in the end, were able to get him back for two years on a relatively cheap deal.

Last year, Green averaged 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game on efficient .501/.382/.802 shooting splits. However, at age 27 and with the market drying up, he was never going to command big money and Memphis was able to coax him back on a team-friendly deal that will allow him to rejoin free agency in 2019, when the group of available players isn’t as deep as next summer.
