Having signed veteran free agent’s J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson, here are 5 reasons that “Trusting the Process” is paying off for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The recent free agent signings made by the Philadelphia 76ers can be seen as the culmination of several year’s of hard work – a.k.a. “Trust the Process.”

In coming to agreement on one-year deal’s for veterans J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson, the Sixers have the taken the next step in their evolution as a franchise.

Having compiled a 75-253 record over the last four seasons, signing such key free agents had been seen as pure fantasy up until 12 months ago, when the team was fresh off compiling a putrid 10-72 record. At that stage, the franchise was simply thinking about ping-pong balls, not key free agent signings.

But after four years of sheer persistence and patience, the Sixers are finally starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. In 2013, the Sixers turned the franchise over to Sam Hinkie as the Sixers’ president of basketball operations, where the birth of Trust the Process began.

Hinkie simply stripped back the franchise to the bone in order to obtain future draft picks, and potentially, future stars to lead the team into the future.

Just over 12 months ago, Bryan Colangelo assumed the reins from Hinkie as president of basketball operations. As a result, the team has now capitalized on the amazing youth obtained during Hinkie’s time at the helm, and taken things to the next level.

Therefore, these recent free agent signings represent an opportune time to discuss four prime reasons why “The Process’ is paying off for the Sixers.
