As another exciting NBA D-League season comes to a close, Chris Reichert hopped on Timeout with Ti to talk about the D-League playoffs and the expansion happening this summer.
After a brief hiatus last week that I feel is very justified after putting up two episodes the week before, Timeout with Ti is back! As the NBA D-League season winds up, Chris Reichert stopped by to talk NBADL with me for about an hour.
Chris covers the D-League over at The Step Back, another fantastic FanSided site that you should definitely check out if you haven’t already. He took a break from what was a busy day of recording for him to spend some time dropping knowledge.
We started off by talking about expansion, and general changes and trends in the D-League. There are two teams moving from one spot to another after being acquired by new NBA clubs, and three brand-new teams sprouting up around the D-League.

One of the new teams coming in will be located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. That’s especially notable because I live in Oshkosh, so I’ve done some work covering the new team, including an extensive sit-down interview with Steve Brandes, who the Milwaukee Bucks named as the president of D-League operations earlier in March.
We didn’t just talk about Oshkosh though. I wanted to learn about how the Raptors 905 got to be the D-League’s best team this season after coming into existence last season. Chris and I talked about Jerry Stackhouse, who made an important decision to head up the 905 instead of sticking on the Toronto Raptors‘ bench.
After breaking down the unique path to success that Stackhouse and the 905 are on, Chris and I finished up by talking about other playoff teams, and we both picked our eventual D-League champions. I would probably go with Chris’ pick over mine, if I had to bet!
