In Week 15 of NBA Power Rankings, the Washington Wizards are starting to look like a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference.

As the 2016-17 NBA season approaches the trade deadline, teams are moving closer and closer to their identities as buyers, sellers or teams that will stand pat.

When the Washington Wizards started their season 3-9 and Bradley Beal was quickly injured again, it seemed like this franchise would inevitably become sellers by the time February rolled around. Thanks to their 24-11 record since then, the Wizards have unpredictably flipped the script on their season and are starting to look like a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference.

Can they challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers’ vice grip on the East? Probably not. But as much as the Boston Celtics have impressed lately, the Wizards suddenly find themselves only two games out of the No. 2 seed in the conference.
