The NBA has released the 2017 Eastern Conference and Western Conference rosters for the All-Star Game. Which stars and snubs made the Player Power Rankings?

The NBA regular season has passed the midway point and entered the stage of legitimate MVP conversations. Unlike 2015-16, when the award winner was determined before the season could truly begin, no one seems to have a concrete idea of who will win it in 2016-17.

The beauty of competition is taking center stage and the race for MVP includes as many as six legitimate candidates.

The most noteworthy departure from the NBA Player Power Rankings is Los Angele Clippers point guard Chris Paul. Last ranked No. 7, Paul’s recent injury will force him to miss an extensive period of time and thus temporarily fall out of consideration for the list.

Paul will undoubtedly return to the Player Power Rankings once he’s healthy again, but his injury has resulted in his omission.

Though Paul may be excluded, the Top 6 players on this week’s Player Power Rankings all have powerful cases to make for MVP. All are posting award-worthy statistics and, more importantly, all are helping their respective teams win games.

The question is: which of the NBA’s superstars has emerged as the frontrunner for the 2016-17 MVP award?
