After a string of painful offseasons, the Miami Heat are facing a tough climb as they attempt to remain competitive during the upcoming 2016-17 campaign.

For the last decade or so, the Miami Heat have been among the NBA’s most dominant teams. Obviously the presence of LeBron James played a big role in that success, but they’ve got four Finals appearances and two Larry O’Brien Trophies to show for their efforts.

Unfortunately, the team’s stock is currently on a steep decline. James went home two offseasons ago, and Dwyane Wade also opted to make the triumphant return to his hometwon.

Although they’ve added some quality contributors over the years, the star power simply isn’t there anymore.

So what can we expect from the Heat in 2016-17? Will they find a way to replace Wade and keep the pressure on the rest of the Eastern Conference? Or will they suffer a serious hangover similar to the one that ensued after James jumped ship?
