Following a season in which they failed to make the playoffs, the Chicago Bulls will be looking to contend for a playoff spot. Here is a look at a few notable matchups from the upcoming 2016-17 campaign.

The Chicago Bulls weren’t very active last offseason, aside from replacing Tom Thibodeau with Fred Hoiberg and taking Bobby Portis with the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.

Going into next season, however, this Bulls team will have a slightly different look to it. Derrick Rose (traded) and Joakim Noah (left in free agency) will both be suiting up for the New York Knicks.

Pau Gasol, as expected, moved on to greener pastures and signed a two-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs. Furthermore, E’Twaun Moore (New Orleans Pelicans) and Aaron Brooks (Indiana Pacers) will be playing for different teams next season.

After failing to make it to the playoffs for the first time in eight seasons, the Bulls are eager to prove they belong among the Eastern Conference teams who will be vying for a playoff position.

So in light of the NBA schedule being released a week ago, here is a look at some notable matchups from Chicago’s upcoming 2016-17 season.
