The Chicago Bulls have traded Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon … so was it a good trade? And what can fans expect from these guys, moving forward?

In case you live under a rock, the Chicago Bulls shocked the entirety of the city by trading Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

Per General Manager Gar Forman:

"“Derrick has meant a lot to this organization and to this city and to this team and has had to overcome a lot over the years with all the injuries to get back to the point he was. But in putting our plan together, we felt as a first step this really made sense for us. We felt we need to start changing the roster. We felt we needed to start getting younger and more athletic. And I think we’ve done that in Robin Lopez and Jerian Grant. And along with that, get a veteran who we really like in Calderon. That was important to us. It was more from a team-building standpoint trying to get this process started and try to put us in a different direction where we think we can have success down the road.”"

And while just about everyone is sad to see Rose go, some are happy with what Chicago got in return and others think the organization gave him away for cheap.

Regardless of how you feel on that topic though, Lopez, Grant and Calderon are here to stay. At least for the time being.

So let us take a closer look at these former New Yorkers, and see how they are going to fit in the current Bulls system.
