Jared Dudley is known for being one of the best teammates and veteran leaders in the NBA. This summer he becomes an unrestricted free agent, and a number of teams will look to add them in hopes to build a championship roster. Here are four teams that would be great fits.

The free agency period in the NBA is one of the most exciting times of year because there’s always a chance of star players finding new destinations. However, while there are only a few superstars who will potentially switch teams, it’s a constant routine for role players and veterans to have a change of scenery.

One of the veterans that will be an unrestricted free agent this July is Jared Dudley. Dudley’s value has increased throughout his nine-year career because of his willingness and understanding of staying true to his role on whatever team he was playing for.

His longest stint on a team was with Phoenix for four and a half years, but Dudley has also played for Charlotte, Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Clippers, and most recently, the Washington Wizards. For every team he’s been on, he has been known as a tremendous teammate and a great leader for the younger players in teaching them how to transition into the life of being a professional.

Dudley also has immense value on the floor. His 39 percent success rate from three always demands the opposing defense’s respect and attention. As the NBA has transitioned to playing much smaller lineups, Dudley has benefitted by being considered a stretch-4.

For the Wizards last season, he played the majority of his minutes at the stretch-4 and early on in the season lead the league in three-point percentage. The 6’7″ veteran ended the season shooting 42 percent from three, which ranked eighth overall.

Dudley was never the quickest and most athletic player, but his basketball IQ and constant communication on both ends have always outweighed those deficiencies.

Like the rest of the free agents, Dudley will be looking to sign a hefty contract this summer with the salary cap rise, and there will a number of teams to offer it to him, but which are the best fit?
