After a 104-78 Game 1 victory over the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors are up 1-0 in their first round playoff series. But what did we learn about the Dubs in that game?

In a convincing 26-point victory Saturday, the Golden State Warriors kicked off their campaign for a title repeat with a 104-78 throttling of the eighth seeded Houston Rockets. In a series that no one expects to be close, it was the exact kind of result most were expecting, especially after the Dubs opened up a 29-point lead in the second quarter.

Stephen Curry led the way, putting up 24 first half points, knocking down five of his seven three-point attempts and chipping in another seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Draymond Green finished with 12 points, 10 boards, four assists, four blocks and two steals, Klay Thompson added 16 points and Marreese Speights put up 12 points off the bench.

In such a throughly dominant and entirely predictable playoff opener, it’d be easy to write off Game 1 — and the series as a whole — as a done deal. But thanks to a Curry injury scare and the Dubs’ playoff aspirations extending far beyond the opening round, it’s worth taking a look at what we learned from the first postseason win and what it tells us about the remaining 15 to go.

Without further ado, here’s a look at the five biggest takeaways of Golden State’s Game 1 victory over the Rockets.
