The 2016 NBA Trade Deadline was relatively quiet until the very end. The question is, who walked away as the biggest winners of them all?

With a rising salary cap on the horizon, and a seemingly wide-open race in the Eastern Conference, many approached the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline with an expectation for significant movement. Rather than coming through on the promise for fireworks, the basketball Gods had a different idea.

Moves were made, but a vast majority of the players traded were stashed at the back-end of rotations.

That’s an impossible statistic to ignore, but it doesn’t necessarily define what transpired at the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline.

A number of teams were active, although most moves were based around shedding salary and padding the depth of the rotation. A key role player added or subtracted can be of incredible value in the pursuit of a championship, however, and departing with a costly salary can be just as helpful in the long-term.

The question is, which teams truly won the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline?
