The NBA’s All-Star Game provides great entertainment for fans and players alike, but there is a full 12-game slate to enjoy on Wednesday before the NBA pauses and turns the spotlight to Toronto. Fortunately for DraftKings players, that means there are great picks to be drafted and bargains to be had.

Wednesday’s docket brings a nice change of pace with seven of the 12 games featuring cross-conference battles, one of which includes a special jersey retirement ceremony for Chauncey Billups. It should be a night of high-scoring games with six of the 12 contests posting an over/under of 207 or more points.

Billups, a Denver native, will receive a special treatment when his hometown Denver Nuggets (21-32) take on the team that is retiring his jersey, the Detroit Pistons (27-26). The over/under for this game is set at 208 and the Pistons are six-point favorites. The Nuggets won the previous meeting 104-101 three weeks ago.

They could easily score 100 points again, something Pistons’ opponents have done in seven straight games.

More from Hoops Habit

The struggling Sacramento Kings (21-31) get a needed matchup with the NBA’s worst team, the Philadelphia 76ers (8-44). It’s no guarantee that the Kings win, especially since they’re only 4½-point favorites, and since the 76ers won the first meeting 110-105. The over/under on the game is the second-highest of the night at 216 points.

Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce will lead the Los Angeles Clippers (35-17) to take on the Boston Celtics (31-23) in a battle between two playoff contenders. The over/under is set at 209 with the Celtics the early 1½-point favorites. This will be the first of two meetings this season.

The Toronto Raptors (35-16) are red hot and there’s no reason that it shouldn’t continue against the young Minnesota Timberwolves (16-37). The Raptors are 6½-point favorites with an over/under of 207. This will be the first of two meetings in a two-week span. Strong guard play should be expected, and Minnesota’s bigs should provide good value.

The defending champion Golden State Warriors (47-4) take on the Phoenix Suns (14-39). The Warriors have won the first two games of the four-game season series. They are favored by 16 points and the game features the highest over/under of the night at 220. Despite playing on the second night of a back-to-back, the Warriors should have some good plays.

With a strong night of games, there should be some great value plays, which will be crucial to hit on with so many high level players to draft from. Let’s get to Wednesday’s top picks.
