Halfway through the Phoenix Suns’ 2015-16 season, here are the five most important things we’ve learned.
In a 2015-16 campaign that began with playoff aspirations, it’s safe to say the Phoenix Suns aren’t where they want to be just past the halfway mark of their season. Sitting at 13-30, the Suns are currently closer to the worst record in the Western Conference (four games) than they are to a playoff spot (six games).
It’s been downright ugly in Phoenix over the last month. Head coach Jeff Hornacek has been on the hot seat and his top two assistants were fired in December. Eric Bledsoe suffered a torn meniscus in perhaps his best season yet and is out for the rest of the year.
Tyson Chandler hasn’t lived up to his offseason contract. Markieff Morris came into the season upset by a summer trade that moved his brother to Detroit, demanded his own trade, publicly rescinded his demand, proceeded to stink on the court, was benched, and has been hit or miss ever since. And that’s without mentioning the towel-throwing incident that earned him a two-game suspension.
