New York Knicks fans, can we talk?

Look, I understand the excitement around Kristaps Porzingis. The dude is 7’3″ of spinning, dunking, and amazing.

No one is telling you not to be excited for him and the team’s future. I’m not a Knicks fan, but I’m looking forward to seeing Porzingis grow (On the court, not physically. He’s big enough already) and develop as a player.

He had a great night last night with 29 points and 11 rebounds in New York’s 102-94 victory over Charlotte.

As basketball fans, we almost got our first truly memorable moment when he knocked down that 3-pointer in Charlotte a week ago. Unfortunately it was waved off as a fraction of a second slow, but it was a hint of what he might be capable of.

I’m not even going to caution Knicks fans to hit the brakes as this could be a case of Linsanity again. That was an amazing month of basketball, and life is too short not to enjoy it.

But speaking of Jeremy Lin and Linsanity, that’s why were here.

I’m glad you are trying to put that energy into something positive, and create something good with it.

But this.

Please don’t let this happen. Please don’t ruin this.

Whiteside Gets a Triple-Double

Just looking at Hassan Whiteside‘s 22 points, 14 rebounds and the 10 blocks might be evidence for some that Whiteside is for sure in the NBA to stay now.

But last season and into the off season the question being asked was could he cash in on the potential we saw last year?

So far the answer is yes as the only real difference between this year and last year is he is shooting more, but not at the expense of wasting shots has his shooting percentage is slightly better.

But unfortunately for Whiteside and the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves were the better team, winning 103-91.

LeBron passes the Logo

LeBron James kept his current streak of 30 points going with exactly 30 points in last night’s 104-99 loss to the Detroit Pistions.

But in the first quarter he passed a legend of the game when he made a 3-point jump shot from 23 feet out. Jerry West‘s No.19 spot on the all-time scoring list with 25,192 career points fell as LeBron drained a corner three. James passed the mark in 922 career games compared to West’s 932 games.

He told reporters after the game that he was well aware of the significance.

"”Every day, every one of us represents `The Logo,”’ James said. ”Every player, every person in this league. So passing him? That’s a huge honor. I’ve had the chance to read his book, and I’ve had the chance to talk to him, and he’s what this game is all about.”"

James now has 25,213 points and will be setting his sights on Reggie Miller 25,279 points in 18th place.

Curry Watch Update

Stephen Curry and Kyle Lowry went at it last night and the Toronto Raptors pushed the Golden State Warriors to the edge of a loss, but ultimately the Warriors held on for a 115-110 victory. They even had to go heel for a moment to ensure the win.

Next: NBA Power Rankings

Curry went 5 of 10 from beyond the arc on Tuesday night to slow his pace to 423.7 3-pointers on 929.3 attempts at a 45.59% clip. It will be hard for him to maintain a pace of shooting 10 or more 3-pointers a game but I’m certainly taking the over on him breaking his own record of 286 made 3-pointers.
