Half a week into a new NBA season, it’s tempting to take everything we thought to be true during the summer and throw it out. The Detroit Pistons are a non-playoff team, huh? Now they’re 3-0. The Minnesota Timberwolves are tanking, right? They’re currently 2-1 behind the stellar play of Karl-Anthony Towns. The Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans are surefire playoff teams, yeah? They’re a combined 0-6 to start the season.

But before we get swept up in tiny sample size trends, let’s remember that most teams have only played 3.7 percent of the regular season so far.

Over the course of a full 82-game season, most of these opening week trends will regress to the mean. But for the winless teams who are still searching for their first victory of the season, how much should they be panicking about falling behind the pack so soon? Which teams that have started 0-2 or 0-3 should be feeling the pressure to turn the ship around?

With nine teams still in search of their first win in 2015-16, there are plenty of candidates littering our NBA Panic Meter. Here’s a look at which ones should be panicking and which ones shouldn’t start to sweat just yet, with a rating from 0-10 (zero being the least concerned, 10 being full crisis lockdown mode).
