The Chicago Bulls are 2-0 for the first time since 2012-13, which is the only time that happened in the Tom Thibodeau era. Though some fans are hesitant to buy in to some of head coach Fred Hoiberg‘s new tactics, Chicago’s offense has looked great and the Bulls have already beaten the reigning Eastern Conference champions.

Sure, the Cleveland Cavaliers were playing without Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert (not to mention a rusty Tristan Thompson who missed training camp), but the point still stands: “so far, so good” for the team that most people are deeming as the biggest threat to LeBron James and the Cavs in the East.

From personnel changes to an upgraded system on offense, the Bulls look like they’ll be a very different, very deep and very dangerous team in 2015-16. It’s far too early to be making any bold statements, but at this juncture, Chicago has impressed under a head coach with zero NBA experience.

Hoiberg has made some controversial decisions with his lineups, but the success has come with those changes. With a similar roster but a whole new mentality and approach to the game, here’s a look at five encouraging signs for the Chicago Bulls under Fred Hoiberg so far.
