Heading into the offseason, the Chicago Bulls didn’t have too many goals other than bringing everybody back. Well, almost everybody.

The uncomfortable, confrontational relationship between head coach Tom Thibodeau and the Bulls front office finally came to its only logical conclusion with Thibs getting the axe. With the head coaching switch, Chicago is banking on Hoiberg being the key that unlocks this team’s potential and finally gets this current core over the hump. To that end, the Bulls’ strategy for the offseason was re-signing their respective free agents and hoping that their new head coach could not only improve the offense, but resurrect the foundations of a once stout defense as well.

The Bulls were never expected to be players in free agency, so their summer mostly involved playing it safe. But here’s a look at what Chicago was able to accomplish heading into the 2015-16 season with comprehensive offseason grades.
