In terms of NCAA Basketball, the recruiting process and ranking boards for players, coaches and fans is one of the more stressful, yet thrilling aspects of the college game.

Not only are 17 and 18-year-old kids making the decision of a lifetime, fan bases erupt (positively and negatively) when each top recruit makes their final decision.

With that being said, I did some digging, and glanced at the top overall recruits in NCAA Basketball in the last decade, and the some of the names I saw made me smile (Examples: John Wall, Andrew Wiggins), and others made me laugh and scratch my head (Examples: Josh Selby, Byron Mullens).

Process: To avoid controversy in these rankings, I used the last 10 No. 1 recruits from Rivals.com in this ranking list. Of course, places like ESPN and 247Sports will have different rankings from years past. Also, this list is about what these players did in COLLEGE, not what they’re currently doing in the NBA, Europe, etc.

So, without any further adieu, here are the No. 1 overall recruits in the college game since 2005.
