The Los Angeles Lakers were, at least by most standards, disappointing in five games of Summer League action.

A 1-4 record is rarely something to be excited about, but in the NBA’s summer session, record really doesn’t mean much. The disappointing aspect of the Lakers Summer League is an uneasy feeling obtained from watching a handful of key players stumble around, lost on offense.

The players are to blame, but so too are the staff members that installed the uncreative offensive attack for a set of games that are, ultimately, meaningless other than player development. Whether the offense was too complex for Summer League play or that players were just not able to click with the concepts introduced, we may never know (but, I am betting on the former).

Still, there were moments that helped clear things up in regards to who the players on the roster will be this season. Heading into the preseason, there are a handful of storylines that you should be watching for with each player, and a few things that we learned about these guys through their summer league play.
