Just past the midway point of the season, the Golden State Warriors sit atop the Western Conference with a stellar 36-6 record. They’ve won a franchise-record 19 straight games at home and seem as likely as anyone to win the 2015 NBA Finals.

Under rookie head coach Steve Kerr, the Dubs have finally broken through that barrier en route to contender status, but halfway through the season it’s time to take a look at which players have been the most important in getting the Warriors to the top of the West.

On this special edition of Warriors analysis, we’ll be handling out individual awards — Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player and Most Valuable Player — to Golden State players just like the NBA does.

Keep in mind, these awards aren’t indicative of how these Warriors players stack up to the rest of the league — though most of them stack up pretty well for some of these categories- but rather, are meant to point out Golden State’s MVP, MIP, DPOY, etc.

The Coach of the Year Award is a bit obvious with Kerr running the show, so let’s get started with the Golden State Warriors’ Rookie of the Year midway through the season.
