A lot of college basketball talking heads have been so quick to dismiss the SEC this season. I’ve heard from many different people in the industry how their players aren’t up to par, or how their teams aren’t competitive.

Those same people need to watch some SEC basketball teams play because a lot of the teams in the conference might not eve feature one go to player that has to get stopped to win the game. I’ve been saying it since the beginning of the college basketball season that SEC basketball is underrated.

All one has to do is look at the recruiting stats and see how many SEC teams that have a top five recruiting class and tell me that the SEC is bad.

With that being said, since the beginning of the SEC schedule has finally tipped off, how about we look at the leading candidates to win the SEC Player of the Year award.

Here are the five players that are early favorites to win the SEC Player of the Year award.
