The Memphis Grizzlies aren’t the prettiest team in the NBA, but they continue to shock the world.

At 17-4, the Grizzlies are making a case as the best team in the NBA, and right now, they’re on pace to be just that. If you’re a first-place team in the Southwest Division, you should be given plenty of indication as the best team in the league, and that’s what’s happening in Memphis right now.

Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph continue to be, arguably, the best frontcourt combo in the NBA. Gasol is playing like an MVP-caliber player, while Randolph is still a steady 15 points and 11 rebounds every night.

They’re more than likely going to go 18-4 once Friday is over with.

The Grizzlies welcome the lowly and pathetic Charlotte Hornets to Memphis as nine-point favorites. That’s about as reasonable as can be when it comes to how bad the Hornets have been, especially when they’re looking to trade damn-near everyone.

Let’s examine it a bit further.
