Outside of the NBA season, ever wonder what type of atmosphere the Pro-Am style includes?

Take for instance the Seattle Pro-Am, which has been lighting up the news feed since it was sparked this summer by Jamal Crawford.  From what we’ve already heard and watched, Crawford knows how to host an event.

Rising up the ranks in sports journalism is our good friend David Vertsberger, who recently had a piece for Grantland (yes, that’s astounding) on the Pro-Am and what it means for the city of Seattle.  Without a professional basketball program intact, Seattle has to use as much as they can get to match the excitement.

I’m joined by Vertsberger in today’s podcast episode, as we also dive into the rest of the league.  Atlanta Hawks lovers?  We’ll discuss the outlook of the team as well.  David covers the Hawks for HawksHoop (ESPN TrueHoop) and also writes at Hardwood Paroxysm.
