Over the next couple weeks, I will be breaking down the Memphis Grizzlies roster, position by position. The focus will be on the depth of each position, strengths and weaknesses of each player, and the role each player will play for the team.

This is part 1 of my 5 part series, and today I will be discussing point guards.

*****

Point guards are always described as “leaders of the team.” They set the tempo and they are the ones the coaches trust with the offense. With the NBA is being described as more of a “point guard league,” it’s starting to seem like the point guards are becoming more and more important to a team’s success.

Today, we’ll see breakdown the Grizzlies’ point guards. As of now, The Grizzlies have three point guards on their roster: Mike Conley, Nick Calathes, and Beno Udrih.

Note: Basketball Reference has listed Calathes and Udrih as “shooting guards,” but I have included them in this list, as they play as point guards for the Grizzlies.
