Nik Stauskas, G, Michigan

I’ve already went into my bit about why Stauskas makes sense (and why he doesn’t). He brings an elite NBA skill from Day 1, and could compete for a rotation spot early on in his career.

It’s clear the Timberwolves want shooters whether by trade or draft, and Stauskas will come significantly cheaper than Klay Thompson.

If the Wolves go ahead and trade Kevin Love, it’s possible Stauskas could still be the guy. He fits into Flip Saunders’ offense, and this team has been so bad from a shooting standpoint the past few years that injecting the sharpshooting guard from Michigan should not hinge on who else leaves the roster.
