If it wasn’t for this part of his game, we would probably know a lot more about Dennis Schroder already. Having averaged 13.1 minutes per game this year, Schroder racked up 1.2 turnovers a night. This included games were Schroeder would enter, turn it over immediately, and then straight away get hooked by Coach Budenholzer to spend the rest of the night on the bench.

Although it’s a tough part of his learning process, Schroder needs to learn to treat possession with greater care. He has excellent court vision for finding teammates, and a plethora of creative passes in his locker, but with his high turnover rate that’s all irrelevant.

Based on Schroeder’s per 36 numbers, he averaged 5.2 assists and 3.4 turnovers, providing him with an assist to turnover ratio of 1.53. This will need to improve dramatically if he hopes to see increased minutes next year.
