Welcome to the Daily NBA Fix for June 12, 2014. It’s the morning of Game 4 of the NBA Finals and the Miami Heat need to pick up the victory if they expect to have a chance to knock off the San Antonio Spurs in the series. Even with all of that excitement, there’s a lot of rumors surrounding one Carmelo Anthony joining the Heat squad for the 2014-15 season to create a “Big Four.”

Sure, the trio of James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh would have to leave tens of millions of dollars on the table by exercising their early termination option, but it could happen, says ESPN.

If Melo opts out by the June 23 deadline, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent. The Heat would be able to talk to him after July 1 and it’s off to the races from there. Each of the stars would have to take a significant paycut, but if it’s to win a championship, we could certainly see it happen.

One of the major problems that the Heatles +1 would run into is style of play. Is Anthony the kind of guy who would play second fiddle to anyone? Who on earth would be the point guard? Is it a waste of his talents to try to get James to do his best Magic Johnson impersonation for the sake of titles? Did we forget how banged up Wade looked all year? Is Bosh even alive after his horrid Game 3 performance and doesn’t he stand to lose the most by turning down the money he’s owed?

A lot of things have to fall into place and when the rumor mill is running as hot as it is now, the smart money is on Anthony to stick with the Knicks for one more season to see how things go under Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher. They’ll clear up a lot of money shortly and could go after a guy like Kevin Durant (more on that in the links).

Speaking of the links, there’s one for everyone (and all 30 teams) so enjoy!
