Why would the Celtics trade Rondo for irving? That makes no sense. They have a top 5 PG….they need more assets

    • Brian Nagy

Irving is much younger, a better scorer than Rondo, which they need. Bradley is every bit as good a defender as Rondo and would complement him well. They just need to trade their two first rounders for love and you’ve got a top 4 eastern conference team. Boston isn’t going to win by building through the draft for at least 3 years.

None of these would make any sense as a trade both teams would want

Irving for Smart or Exum makes a lot of sense.
If Mitch could get Monroe or Love in the process, I’d be ecstatic. If not, I’ll patiently wait for Aldridge next year.

Rondo has a clause where he can reject any trade. No way he goes to Cleveland. Maybe if it’s a 3 team blockbuster.
