The Indiana Pacers were unable to beat the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals once again this season, and one of the main reasons was their lack of a legitimate starting point guard. Larry Bird made it clear that the Pacers will explore everything this offseason, and certainly didn’t commit to George Hill being the starting point guard next season. There are three point guards that the Pacers should target this offseason in particular.

rondo or lowery would be the best fits for the pacers. they need someone who is able to create shots for everyone else not worry about getting their own points. besides a scoring point guard would not fit in vogel’s defense first system. he would sit them on the bench just like anybody else who can score.

Lowry is the best option but I think he’s going to command more on the market than the Pacers can afford.
Thomas is excellent but won’t fit on the Pacers because he can’t really guard anyone.
Rondo’s name keeps getting thrown around but I actually think he’s a bad fit. His lack of outside shooting means he doesn’t stretch the floor, and the Pacers already have a huge problem with spacing. His defense has also dropped off over the last few years.
