When the Chicago Bulls lost Derrick Rose to another season-ending knee injury in late November, the team was in need of a player who could provide solid minutes at the backup point guard position.

And the front office addressed this need by signing D.J. Augustin.

On paper, this seemed like a questionable move, considering that Augustin averaged just 2.1 points per contest in 10 appearances for the Toronto Raptors.

But as Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports, Bulls forward Taj Gibson was in favor of the acquisition and had this to say about Augustin:

"He’s a good scorer; he just needs the opportunity. I think it would be a good look for our team because right now we’re trying to keep guys healthy."

Were the Bulls and Augustin a match made in heaven?

To answer this question, let’s take a look back at his 2013-14 season, including season stats, highlight/lowlight, best/worse performances and my final grade.
