With the regular season set to end on Wednesday, the NBA discussions will be centered around the end of the year awards. Most of it will be determining who wins the Most Valuable Player award between Kevin Durant and LeBron James, while others will be making their pitches for why a certain coach should win Coach of the Year.

In this piece we’ll take a look at the rookies. The HoopsHabit Rookie of the Year award winner will be announced next week with a final Rookies Ranking to determine the crown. For now we’ll look at the NBA All-Rookie team. There are a number of candidates for the first team selections, most of them are closely involved with the ROY discussion.

Last season’s All-Rookie first team featured Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, Dion Waiters and Harrison Barnes. Lillard walked away with the ROY award as well. Who earns the prestigious spot on the HoopsHabit All-Rookie team? Let’s find out.

“Not only was Philly just hoping for a manageable season before the the year, they thought they had the makings of a possible playoff sleeper”. NOT !!!!!
This has been a tank effort from the moment that they traded Jrue for a guy who would not play at all.
From the moment that they refused to sign ANY professional basketball players in free agency.
The statement above shows a clear misunderstanding and total lack of knowledge of what the Sixers were about this year.
    Bad Journalism !!!

Oladipo isn’t even in the race for ROY. Just stop with all the “trying to think outside the box”.

You said it yourself, “First among rookies in scoring, rebounds, assists, steals (fifth in the NBA)”…and on a team with ONE NBA player to pass the rock too. It’s not easier to do what he’s doing with the minutes, it’s harder. 5th in the league in steals for a rookie, playing defense on a team with nothing to play for. Fastest player to reach two career triple double since 1990, when David Robinson also did it in 51 games. Kid fills up the stat sheet. Try again please, Mr. Giese.
