Frequent Flyer Miles Has Reached Cruising Altitude:

Plumlee remains a double-double threat and a pleasant surprise for the Suns. But how much better can he get? Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Here’s the thing about Miles Plumlee: I love the guy. I love his energy, I love that he’s an underdog, I love his effort and I love how consistently he’s surprised me this season. Between his athleticism, his above-the-rim play and his double-double numbers, Frequent Flyer Miles has more than earned his minutes. But the question has to be asked: Just how much better can Miles Plumlee get?

His free throw shooting has improved in the last week, but he’s still shooting under 43 percent from the line on the year. Plumlee’s averaging an impressive 1.9 blocks per game this season, but he still hasn’t played a better game than his opening night 18-point, 15-rebound, 3-block performance against the Portland Trail Blazers. It’s a very small sample size and we’re only 17 games into this guy’s first season as a starter, but as the year progresses I’d like to see Plumlee’s post game improve before I think he can be anything more than just “consistently good.”
