Season Outlook:

It’s a new year for the Houston Rockets and a whole new identity. It’s rare for a team to lose six players that could potentially start if they stayed with their original team but that’s what happened for the Rockets.

They had to abandon their plan to acquire Dwight Howard this year and instead they used their draft picks to acquire potential in hopes of developing them together.

Potential too often leads to bust and the Rockets are in serious danger of that. There’s not much to be excited about for the Rockets this year and depending on all of their youth will mean lots of growing pains.

Best-Case Scenario:

Jeremy Lin plays like he did during his ascent in New York and gives the fans a reason to hope for the future. Royce White and Terrence Jones impress and develop a great chemistry with Lin. Houston finishes out of the playoffs but with a lot to be excited about moving forward.

Worst-Case Scenario:

Lin continues his turnover-plagued game and in addition to the young players who are too-often undisciplined, the Rockets truly bottom out and become one of the worst in the league. They finish dead last in the conference and hope to make a splash in free agency.
