Trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers this season: Bryn Forbes

In addition to shoring up the defense, adding more shooting would not hurt the Lakers, as they currently rank 16th in three-point shooting in 2021-22. With players like James, Westbrook, and Davis sharing the floor, shooting is a necessity.

It does not help that the team is lacking in legitimate three-point shooters aside from Carmelo Anthony, Wayne Ellington, and Malik Monk. If the front office is seeking an affordable shooter to target, Bryn Forbes would be a great choice.

Knocking down 41.2 percent of his triples on 4.2 attempts throughout his ongoing six-year career, Forbes has always been known for his prolific outside shooting. He is specifically a threat when it comes to catch-and-shoot opportunities, which makes him all the better for Los Angeles.

Forbes would get no shortage of open looks playing alongside players like James and Westbrook, and his shooting could be a massive spark to help get the offense flowing. Though he would not help their issues defensively, his shooting might be enough to make up for it.

While nothing is certain, it would be feasible to believe Forbes could be available. The guard is currently playing the fewest minutes this year since his rookie season as the San Antonio Spurs focus on a youth movement.

Making $4.5 million this season, Forbes would be an affordable trade target for the financially limited Lakers, and they should genuinely consider making a move for him if these shooting issues continue throughout the season.
