NBA: Most likely first time All-Stars from each team: Los Angeles Lakers – Kendrick Nunn

Who hasn’t made the All-Star team for the Los Angeles Lakers? From top to bottom, almost everyone has. From Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony making numerous appearances on the mid-season classic back in their glory days to LeBron James and Anthony Davis making it every year since the beginning of time, it’s difficult pinpointing who will make the glamorous squad this year that hasn’t already for the Lakers.

It could be a bit of a stretch, but the most likely player to emerge from the Lakers as a first-time All-Star this year is Kendrick Nunn. Now, of course, we’re fully aware that Nunn is starting behind the eight ball since he’s dealing with an ankle injury. Once he fully recovers from that, he should have plenty of opportunities to shine.

In two years with the Miami Heat, Nunn ended his time there averaging 15 points per game. He was also their starting point guard. Starting for the Los Angeles Lakers is going to be virtually impossible thanks to Russell Westbrook. But that doesn’t mean Nunn won’t have his chances to show out.

With defenses mostly focused on stopping Westbrook, Davis, and James – Nunn will have plenty of one on one opportunities. In those situations, he’ll thrive. As long as he can sneak in about 30 minutes a night, the Lakers could have themselves an All-Star level player coming off their bench.
