There have been plenty of trade rumors swirling around for years with Blake Griffin and Kevin Love. Since the moment Griffin was traded to the Detroit Pistons and Love signed his contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers fans of the teams have been putting the trade machine to work to make their teams better. The unfortunate truth they have to acknowledge is that they will not have that option.

While Blake Griffin started the season shooting well, he’s down to 33.0 percent on 7.8 attempts per game. He also does not cross the 3-point line often on either end of the court. He is negative value at this point for his team and the rest of the league will have taken notice. Kevin Love was a chemistry nightmare last season and is still dealing with injuries. He also has a brutal three seasons remaining on his deal worth a staggering $91.5 million.

Derrick Rose is another Detroit Piston who many thought would be available at the deadline last year, during the offseason and then again at this deadline. Personally, it does not seem like he is being traded. The injury to rookie Killian Hayes leaves the team exceptionally thin at point. More importantly, Rose seems to love being in Detroit and mentoring the younger players. Rose was never the type to recruit stars to the Chicago Bulls so him not wanting to chase a ring fits his mentality.

Finally, on the complete other extreme, Victor Oladipo has been great so far and the Indiana Pacers look better than the team that finished with the four seed last year. As an expiring contract with an undetermined future, the return on Oladipo would not fit what he can be at his peak (or even what he has been this season) so the team should stand pat and convince him that Indiana is the best place for his future.
