3. Fatigue

Some may call it “being on a hot streak” but there ain’t no sugarcoating it. The Denver Nuggets must be exhausted at this point. They are straight off two consecutive playoff series that went to a Game 7, with most of the games going down to the wire.

The last time the Nuggets had a two-day stint without basketball was before the playoffs tipped-off. What about a three-day sting with no official NBA games? To find that period of time, one would have to go way back, before the bubble’s seeding games even started.

Yes, the Nuggets currently have the hot hand and seem to have found their groove. But the fact that they’ve played a total of 14 playoff games in a total of 28 days, should really start to get to them, both mentally and physically.

On the other hand. the Los Angeles Lakers entered the postseason very rested, as the seeding games were nothing but a series of friendly scrimmages for them.

Since the beginning of the playoffs, the Lakers have played a total of 10 games. In addition to that, they have enjoyed some great leisure time, as their opponents needed more than 5 games to advance to face them.
