MVP: Giannis Antetokounmpo

This was the easy one. Giannis Antetokounmpo tore through the NBA once again after winning MVP last season with 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game to go with 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks. Giannis was a dominant driving force for the Milwaukee Bucks who were nearly invincible, at least before the bubble and the NBA playoffs began (they went 3-5 in the bubble and lost Game 1 of the playoffs to the Orlando Magic).

Antetokounmpo received 31 of a possible 36 votes, while LeBron James finished second with four votes. That final and 36th vote when to Nikola Jokic.

Rookie of the Year: Ja Morant

Rookie of the Year was a rout similar to MVP, this time in favor of Ja Morant. The second overall pick from Murray State may have benefited from Zion Williamson‘s absence for most of the season, but he took full advantage of the opportunity with an incredible season himself.

Morant was the driving force behind the Memphis Grizzlies’ ultimately ill-fated drive for the playoffs and he’ll be a force in the NBA for years to come.

He received 31 votes, followed by Zion Williamson with four votes, and RJ Barrett receiving a solitary vote.
