4. Ethan’s pick: Solomon Hill (MIA, UFA)

And from a pair of former Suns players we move to a pair of current Miami Heat players. If there’s one thing that these last few entries have shown, it’s that one of Minnesota’s weakest position is in the small forward position.

Josh Okogie is a great talent, and someone who raises the defensive profile of the team simply via his presence, and his potential is through the roof. However, when the team has to send in the backup rotation, Kelan Martin, at best, is a rough talent who is still going to need time to develop.

Bringing on Solomon Hill would allow Martin time to develop into the biggest talent that he can be, while also providing some offensive firepower off the bench. Hill has been a perennial bench player, and this year he was averaging close to his career highs. Once again, his defense leaves a little to be desired, but his shooting is great with a 40/37/71 split. Miami is also in a tight spot with free agents, with nine total and six being unrestricted. Because of this, there is a chance that Hill slips beneath the radar.

LA: Hill’s career revival this year in Memphis was amazing. As Josh Okogie moved up to small forward, we saw him get bullied a little bit due to lack of size. Having a bigger guy like Hill on the roster to help the team during those matchups could pay big dividends. Hill likely could also be had for a relatively cheap price, potentially even the veteran minimum.
