4. Knicks have an emphatic win with Carmelo Anthony’s return

The Knicks trouncing the Portland Trail Blazers was a solid regular-season win. Not only were Knicks fans able to enjoy this win, but they were able to rejoice by watching Melo…well, go Melo. He had 26 points, 7 rebounds, 64.7 field goal percentage, and a 60 three-point percentage in 31 minutes. It was nice to see the once-heralded hero of New York City come back to his old stomping grounds and play well against his former team.

But as nice as it was to watch Carmelo Anthony, it was even greater to watch Mitchell Robinson that night.

Robinson was the only young player who had an outstanding performance as he posted 22 points, 8 rebounds, one block, one steal, and only one foul within 27 minutes. But the most wonderful thing about his performance is that he went perfect from the field by going 11-of-11. It was the cherry on top of Robinson’s performance that night.

What should also be noted from that night is that Anthony complimented Robinson on his talent. The former 2012-13 scoring champ said that Robinson doesn’t even understand his full potential yet.

Even though the Knicks won, it would’ve been nice to see some of the other younger guys play better. If players like Barrett, Ntilikina, and Kevin Knox could’ve contributed more to this win, it would’ve much sweeter. Regardless, a win is a win, and it was a night that should be cherished. Especially since the Trail Blazers are not an easy team.
